National Museum of Scotland hosts Ancient Egypt Exhibition

An exhibition of hundreds of artefacts are on display at the newly refurbished National Museum of Scotland. The existing collecting has been joined by items from the Dutch Rijkesmuseum van Oudheden to create the 'Mummies Exhibition' which explores Ancient Egyptian beliefs in death and the afterlife and helps to explore the lives of the people whose mummies have been so wonderfully preserved. The Exhibition also features recent CT scans of a mummy from the Scottish collection and explores the story of the mummy of Ankhhor, a high priest of Thebes which has been loaned from the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden.
