Bram Stoker and the Egyptian Mummy

An article in the Hull Daily Mail discusses the connection between Bram Stoker and an Egyptian mummy.

The Bram Stoker Centenary Conference to be held at the University of Hull to mark the author's death, will discuss the mummy which resides in the Hands on History Museum.  It is believed that the mummy may have been the inspiration for his novel The Jewel of Seven Stars.  The Hull mummy was purchased by the museum in 1930 by the curator and Stoker is understood to have visited the city many times.

Dr Joann Fletcher will speak at the conference which is being held today on her research on the mummy and the Stoker connection.
