Colossal statues installed in Los Angeles

Two colossal statues from Egypt dating to the Ptolemaic Period have been installed at the California Science Centre in Los Angeles.  The statues of a king and queen weigh a staggering 10 tons between them and are 16 feet tall.  They are part of a collection of 150 Egyptian objects that will be featured in the exhibition  Cleopatra: The Search for the Lat Queen of Egypt which opens at the Centre on 23 May 2012.
