A History of the World in 100 Objects tells about the history of civilisation by using 100 objects from the British Museum. It began as a podcast, then became a best selling book, and now been released as an audio book. Written by the director of the British Museum, Neil McGregor, the audio version is also read by him and includes interviews with experts on history, archaeology and economics amongst other things.
I have the book which I really enjoy looking through...but I am now very tempted to enjoy the story through this medium. And the added bonus...one of the objects - the ivory label of King Den - belonged to my research subject: the Reverend William MacGregor (no relation I think!)
