Sleepovers at the British Museum
You will know from a previous post on this blog, that I became interested in Egyptology from attending a Women's sleepover at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery many years ago. I absolutely LOVED it.
I was therefore really pleased to discover that the British Museum's arrange sleepovers for their Young Friend's members. The evening consists of storytelling and craft activities; there can also be talks by curators on the collection or current exhibitions. The children and there parents or guardians then get to sleep in the Egyptian and Assyrian galleries, followed by breakfast. Not surprisingly, the tickets are so popular than they are on a first come first come basis. Great idea and great fun! Please, please, please can we have one for adults?!!!! I will be first in line!
