Lancaster City Museum Welcomes Ancient Egyptian Exhibition

From the 2nd February 2013, visitors to Lancaster City Museum can see an exhibition called "From Egypt's Sands to Northern Hills'.

The exhibition, which concentrates on daily life and the afterlife, features a display of ancient Egyptian artefacts brought together from collections across the north west.  All objects were discovered in excavations directed by Professor John Garstang (Professor of Archaeology at Liverpool University from 1907-1941) on behalf of the Liverpool University between 1900-1914.  A photographic display accompanies the exhibition, as well as a series of free, family events including "Pyramid Builder", "Cartouche Crazy", "Meet an Archaeologist" and "Mummy Mayhem".
