Vatican Ancient Egyptian Treasures

Here are some more treasures I captured from my recent visit to the Vatican Museum, Egyptian collection.

This painted limestone wall fragment  is beautifully displayed against a deep red background.  It is from the 16th Dynasty.

The god Osiris-Canopus in basalt from the Villa Adriana at Tivoli.

Head of the pharaoh Mentuhotep II from Thebes.
It is dated to the 11th dynasty (2010-1998 BC) and is made from yellow sandstone.
It stands at a height of 60cm.
