Great Opportunity to Host Egyptology Event

Call for bids host the Current research in Egyptology Conference:
"If you are a team of Egyptology postgraduate students or early
career researchers with a minimum of two members (at least one
of which must be registered as a postgraduate PhD student) and
would like to host the next round of the Current Research in
Egyptology conference, please consider submitting a bid!

The presentation of bids will be at the beginning of the Annual
General Meeting (AGM), which will be held at this year’s CRE in
Kraków on SATURDAY May 7TH from 16:00-17:00. Posters of the bids (if you chose to include one) will be on display alongside the poster presentations throughout the conference.

Bids should consist of the following:
* A powerpoint presentation which will give the voters (all
attendees of the conference who stay for the AGM) a clear
idea of why they should vote for your bid. Information to
-- Members of your committee
-- Available funds for paying for organising expenses (i.e.
venue rental)
-- Visitor information (transport, accommodation)
-- Potential opening/closing speakers (usually professional
Egyptologists such professors from your institution)
-- Location for the conference dinner
-- Any bonuses your institution can offer (free lunch, museum
* An optional (but strongly recommended) poster which includes
the information in your powerpoint in abbreviated form, which
can be displayed throughout the conference alongside the poster
* This year, it is mandatory that a member of your committee be
in attendance to present the bid at the AGM. This is so voters
can ask questions regarding travel, funding, etc.

Hosting CRE is not restricted for UK institutions, and we
encourage international bids to be submitted. Please be sure
to research concerns regarding transportation and visas for
your country, as many voters are likely to have questions.
Intention to present a bid must be declared before May 7th,
2016 via email to both  &; the email is simply to notify
the committees and should not include your powerpoint or poster.
But please do send us both after you declare intent.

Please note that institutions which have not been successful for
past bids are especially encouraged to re-apply!
