Song for an Egyptian Mummy

.
The period from 1900 to the middle of the 1920s saw a flurry of popular music with an Egyptian theme. Mummy Mine shown above is one example of a novelty song that was written in 1918 by Vincent Rose and Richard Coburn and recorded that same year by the Sterling Trio.

Mummy, a million years you have been sleeping, friendlessly.
Mummy, a million years I've used in weeping endlessly.
I've waited thro' the years just sighing.
Oh can't you hear me again crying. Waken?
You love no more denying,
Mummy mine, mine.
