New Exhibition opens in Leeds

Leeds Museum have today opened its doors to a new touring exhibition on Ancient Egypt.

Developed with the British Museum, the exhibition explores the lives of the Pharaohs and can be seen alongside the museum's mummy, Nesyamun, a priest from the Temple of Amun.

Among the star pieces on display are an 8 foot wooden statue which stood guard in the tomb of Rameses I and a 3,000 year old bed from the tomb of Ramses IX.

The exhibition runs at Leeds until Sunday, June 17.
